Gentle, Exploration of Body and Mind through Yoga and Meditation
Led by Thomas Minde, MD, family physician and psychotherapist and Gaby Morency, internationally certified yoga teacher
March 26 - April 1, 2026
This retreat is ideal if you’re looking to slow down, reconnect, and cultivate more balance—both in your body and in your mind.
We all live in a body—it’s our first home. Through it, we experience the world: what we see, hear, feel, and sense. Our body, together with the nervous system and brain, also supports our mind.
In everyday life, it’s easy to lose touch with both. We spend so much time in our heads that we forget to listen to our bodies. At the same time, our minds often feel busy, reactive, or overwhelmed. Thoughts and emotions take over, and we can feel like we’re just being carried along.
When we’re disconnected from both body and mind, we lose our sense of grounding—and this can create a lot of stress and suffering.
This retreat is an invitation to slow down and come home to yourself. Through yoga and gentle somatic practices, you’ll reconnect with your body and its natural wisdom.
Through meditation and guided reflection, from science and Buddha’s teachings, you’ll explore your thoughts and emotions with more clarity and kindness. Together, these practices help you reconnect with a deeper sense of awareness, ease, and presence.

Meet the Instructors
Thomas Minde
Thomas Minde is a family physician and psychotherapist who spent many years working in the Ottawa area and now makes his home near Montreal. His teaching experience includes the University of Ottawa and the Ottawa Palyul Centre, and he currently teaches in the Department of Family Medicine at McGill University in Vaudreuil.
A long-time practitioner in the Palyul lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, Thomas has received extensive teachings and empowerments from his root teachers, the late Pema Norbu Rinpoche and Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche. His training includes an eight-year cycle of summer retreats at the Palyul retreat centre in upstate New York, covering all the major teachings of the tradition, as well as numerous solitary retreats.
Bridging Buddhism, medicine, and western psychology, Thomas brings a wide range of approaches to both his therapy and Dharma work. His teaching draws from practices that engage thoughts, emotions, energetic experience, and the body. At the center of his interest is the exploration of Awareness itself, the essence of the Dzogchen view that reminds us that everything is already complete and invites a direct connection with this simple yet elusive truth.
Students and clients appreciate his warm, inclusive presence and his ability to weave together diverse perspectives and methods into a clear and accessible path.
